Rehman Abbas does not consider literature merely a means of expressing personal thoughts; rather, in his view, it is also an intellectual debt that a writer is obliged to repay. Similarly, the purpose of his novel writing is not merely to tell a story but to highlight various aspects of life and provide readers with an opportunity to view the world from a broader perspective. A truly great novel, according to him, is one that does not merely present the realities of life but also offers a profound analysis of them. The events depicted in a novel should compel readers to think, feel, and perceive reality from new angle. Rehman Abbas’s short stories and essays have been published in various newspapers and magazines. For *All India Radio*, he has conducted interviews with prominent Urdu prose writers and poets. In addition, he has also interviewed several literary figures, including Nida Fazli, Javed Akhtar, Salma Siddiqui, Salam Bin Razaq, and Yusuf Nazim, among others.
