Publication Ethics
1. Introduction
The "Contemporary Journal of Social Science Review" (CJSSR) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing. This Publication Ethics Policy outlines the responsibilities of authors, editors, and reviewers to ensure the integrity and quality of the research published in the Journal.
2. Author Responsibilities
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and does not infringe on the intellectual property of others. All sources must be properly cited, and plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.
- Authorship: Authorship should be based on significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or analysis of the research, and writing of the article. All contributors who meet these criteria should be listed as authors.
- Data Fabrication and Falsification: Authors must report their research accurately and honestly. Fabricating or falsifying data is a serious ethical violation and will not be tolerated.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their research or reporting. This includes financial interests, personal relationships, and any other affiliations that could be seen as biasing the work.
- Acknowledgments: Authors should acknowledge all individuals and institutions that provided funding, data, or other support for the research.
- Corrections and Retractions: Authors are responsible for promptly informing the Editors if they discover any errors or inaccuracies in their published work. They should cooperate with the Editors in issuing corrections or retractions if necessary.
3. Editor Responsibilities
- Editorial Independence: The Editors of CJSSR are committed to editorial independence and will make all publication decisions based on the scientific merit of the research, without regard to any external influence.
- Peer Review: CJSSR uses a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and objectivity of published articles. Editors select qualified reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
- Confidentiality: The Editors will maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and reviewers' reports.
- Fairness and Objectivity: Editors will treat all authors with fairness and objectivity, regardless of their nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, or any other personal factor.
- Handling Allegations of Misconduct: Editors will take appropriate action when allegations of misconduct, such as plagiarism or scientific fraud, are raised against an author. This may include contacting the author for clarification, seeking advice from experts, or initiating formal retraction proceedings.
4. Reviewer Responsibilities
- Expertise: Reviewers should only agree to review manuscripts that fall within their area of expertise.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must keep all submitted manuscripts confidential and not share them with any third party, except as authorized by the Editors.
- Objectivity: Reviewers should provide feedback that is objective, constructive, and unbiased. They should avoid personal attacks or comments that are unrelated to the scientific merit of the work.
- Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their reviews in a timely manner and meet the deadlines set by the Editors.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their review, such as personal relationships with the authors or competing financial interests.
