REVIEW ON THE THREE ENGLISH VERSIONS OF THE ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS

Abstract

The Four Great Classical Novels of China classic literature："Romance of the Three Kingdoms", "Water Margin", "Journey to the West"  and "Dream of the Red Chamber"，are the four masterworks literary works in ancient Chinese literature history.They are accepted and common read by every Chinese person,and they are as well as important content of Chinese culture, reading them is a good way to learn Chinese history and culture. Among them, "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" was the earliest one,it was a novel written based on the history of the Three Kingdoms period(220—280 A.D) .This article mainly review three English versions of the the work,evaluates them and give my reading suggestions for every one learn China through English readdings and ones love the work.
