Abstract

Hazrat Khwaja Ghulam Murtaza Beerbalvi (RA) was born in 1251 AH (1835 CE) in Beerbal, Shahpur, District Sargodha, to Maulana Muhammad Aslam. In a short span of time, he mastered all the rational and traditional sciences. He acquired proficiency in Tafseer (exegesis), Hadith, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Nahw (syntax), Mantiq (logic), Badi' (rhetoric), Fara'id (obligatory religious duties), and the fundamentals and branches of Islamic knowledge from his teacher. In his later years, he was afflicted with a stroke, which persisted until his death. On the 15th of Rajab, 1321 AH (corresponding to the evening of a Wednesday), just before sunset, the radiant sun of knowledge and wisdom, who was the pinnacle of Islamic law (Shari'at) and spirituality (Tariqat), withdrew from this transient world and entered the realm of eternal sanctity.
