IDENTIFICATION OF DIFFERENT METHODOLOGIES FOR TREATMENT OF AUTISM IN URDU SPEAKING ADOLESCENTS: AN INVESTIGATIVE REPORT
Abstract
This study investigates the treatment methodologies for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) among Urdu-speaking adolescents in Lahore, Pakistan. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative framework, this research incorporates observations, interviews, and focus groups to examine the gaps in local treatment approaches compared to international standards. Findings reveal significant deficiencies in Pakistan’s ASD treatment infrastructure, particularly in addressing adolescents’ unique psychological and behavioral needs. Recommendations are provided to bridge these gaps and improve outcomes for autistic adolescents.
