Abstract

This study aimed to explore how a student’s academic performance at university is related to their parents’ socioeconomic status. The entire study population consists of all university level scholars residing in Punjab, Pakistan's Vehari District. The study was limited to look at only university students. To choose 150 participants, a simple random sample was carried out so the group would match the general population. To collect the data, researcher adopted the questionnaire, Once all the data was collected, it was then sorted, arranged in categories, and dissected. The analysis of the data relied on using coefficients and Anova. Once the data were studied, it appeared to the analysts that a student’s academic achievement in university electives is associated with the parents’ finances, the extent of teaching, word knowledge, and earnings. Using the data from the exercise, it was recommended that unemployment should be controlled. Those without much money ought to be provided with scholarships. It was suggested that actions be taken by the government to lift up the social and economic status of the people.
