Abstract

The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) into commercial contracts marks a revolutionary step of a Pakistan legal and business ecosystem. With automation and data driving decision-making on the rise, the standard legal framework, as it exists in Pakistan, is challenged to a great extent. This paper analyzes implications of AI technologies to the making, interpretation, and enforcement of commercial contracts within the law of Pakistan. It focuses on revealing the gaps between the existing contract law and the new AI-powered practices with references to the worldwide trends. The research points out the necessity of judicial enlightenment, regulatory change, and cross-boundary cooperation so that the contract law in Pakistan develops along with technological advancement. Finally, it promotes future-oriented legal system, which embraces the powers of artificial intelligence without undermining the values of consent, fairness, and accountability.
