Abstract

This research paper explores the theme of women empowerment as depicted in the Urdu novel Bismil by Mehrunisa. The novel vividly portrays the struggles, resilience, and transformation of its female protagonist in a traditionally patriarchal society. Through a comprehensive literary analysis, this study investigates how empowerment in the novel affects not only individual identity but also societal structures, cultural perceptions, and gender roles. It highlights the psychological, social, and cultural dimensions of empowerment, illustrating its multifaceted impact on women and society. The findings underscore the novel’s role as a catalyst for feminist discourse and social change within South Asian contexts.
