Abstract

This research explores the perspectives of English graduates on the educational policy, curriculum and teaching methodologies, in various universities of Pakistan. Every year many students complete their MA or BS degree in English literature of language in Pakistan and continue their future in various dimensions including MPhil, teaching or other fields etc. but it has been noticed that many students are not satisfied by their degrees and even after the degree they are unable to secure good jobs. The researcher has collected and analyzed the views of graduated students using the grounded theory to comprehend the reasons and deficiencies in the education system. This study explores graduates' opinions on the setting of curriculum, advancements in teaching methodologies, and policies of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) regarding students of English. Student’s responses highlighted many important suggestions regarding educational, teaching and curriculum design and policies. The results showed that students emphasized on the practical research work, English language speaking, communication skills, and technological advancements, and proper counselling regarding their future in the fields related to their degree.
