This research paper provides an in-depth review of the Islamic principles of environmental protection, especially the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In the present era, the environmental crisis and climate change have become a global problem, for which various theories and practical measures are being considered. The aim of this research is to clarify that Islam and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) contains a complete and comprehensive system regarding environmental balance and the protection of nature.
This study mainly analyzes the verses of the Holy Qur’ān, the Hadiths of the Prophet and the historical events of the life of the Prophet (PBUH) in order to understand how the Prophet taught, how to treat the earth, water, air, plants, and animals. This paper highlights that the Prophet (PBUH) encouraged avoiding waste, planting trees, using water properly, and being gentle with animals. These teachings also emphasize cleaning the environment and keeping it free from pollution.
This research focuses on how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Promote an eco-friendly lifestyle not only at the individual level but also at the social level. His teachings on preventing deforestation, discouraging unnecessary hunting, and limiting the use of unnecessary resources offer an effective solution to today’s environmental challenges. He forbade harming unarmed civilians, cutting down trees, and damaging crops and buildings even in times of war.
This paper, by reconciling Islamic teachings with modern environmental science and its principles, concludes that the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) provide not only a theoretical basis for environmental protection but also a practical and actionable strategy.
