“THE PREACHING METHODOLOGIES OF THE TĀBIʿĪN: A RESEARCH STUDY ON THE REFORM AND PROPAGATION OF THE DOCTRINE OF TAWḤĪD”

Abstract

This research article explores the methodological approaches (Asālīb al-Da‘wah) adopted by the Tābi‘īn (the successors of the Companions) in the reform and propagation of the doctrine of Tawḥīd (Islamic monotheism). The study highlights how the Tābi‘īn, inheriting the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Companions, played a pivotal role in preserving the purity of Islamic belief during a period marked by emerging ideological deviations and theological disputes. Through analytical and descriptive methods, this research examines their Invitational, educational, and reformative strategies, including preaching, teaching, and refutation of false beliefs, moral training, and intellectual engagement with deviant groups. The study further demonstrates that the Tābi‘īn emphasized wisdom, patience, and adherence to Qur’ān and Sunnah as core principles in their efforts. The findings of this research underline the relevance of their methodologies in addressing contemporary challenges related to creed and religious thought.
