The increasing penetration of digital technologies has significantly altered family interactions in Balochistan, raising concerns about excessive screen time, social isolation, and mental health. The problem addressed in this study is the growing dependence on digital devices and its socio-psychological consequences for families, particularly children and adolescents. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between screen time, social isolation, and mental health outcomes within families in Balochistan. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining surveys of households with interviews of parents and youth across urban and rural areas. Data were analyzed to assess behavioral patterns, emotional wellbeing, and family cohesion. The findings indicate that excessive screen time is strongly associated with increased levels of anxiety, depression, and social withdrawal. It also weakens family communication and contributes to isolation among youth. Additionally, exposure to online environments increases vulnerability to psychological stress. The study concludes that while digital technologies offer opportunities, unregulated usage poses serious risks to mental health and family cohesion. It recommends awareness programs, parental monitoring, and policy interventions to promote balanced digital engagement.
