This research study investigates communication apprehension among EFL learners at GGDC Thatta, focusing on the impact of EFL speaking anxiety on students’ classroom involvement. The data was gathered using a qualitative research methodology. A semi-structured interview was conducted with ten students. The study was carried out at Government Girls Degree College in Thatta. The sample comprised students from the XI and XII grades. Thematic analysis was employed to interpret the qualitative data. The interview revealed that communication apprehension (CA), a factor contributing to foreign language speaking anxiety, exacerbates EFL speaking anxiety among intermediate students. The study’s findings indicated that students at Government Girls Degree College Thatta often experience anxiety when speaking in EFL, underscoring the need for student-centered language training approaches. Educators must employ interactive pedagogical techniques, activities that enhance self-esteem, and promote feedback mechanisms to mitigate anxiety. The results substantially influence curriculum developers, language educators, and policymakers, fostering effective measures to improve English language learning outcomes.
