Abstract

In dynamic, knowledge-based economies, employee performance has emerged as a strategic factor in organizational sustainability. Co-existing with the Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG-8) strategic focus on decent work and sustainable economic development, companies grow increasingly dependent on integrated talent systems and adaptive leadership strategies to facilitate positive employment practices. In the current study, the authors identify the effects of Talent Management, Agile Leadership, and Employee Performance, mediated by a Supportive Work Environment and moderated by Transformational Leadership.

Based on the Social Exchange Theory and Organizational Support Theory, the research design would be quantitative and cross-sectional, employing a structured questionnaire distributed to full-time employees of service-sector organizations. To test direct, mediating, and moderating relationships, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used.

The results have shown that a Supportive Work Environment is greatly improved under Talent Management and Agile Leadership, thereby positively affecting Employee Performance. Moreover, the Talent Management and Supportive Work Environment, in their turn, are reinforced by Transformational Leadership, enhancing the efficacy of talent systems. The findings of the mediation process affirm that workplace support is a very significant mechanism that converts management practices into sustainable performance outcomes.

The article could help fill the sustainable HRM literature by offering an integrated, moderated-mediation framework that bridges micro-level organizational practices and macro-level SDG-8 objectives. In practical terms, the research findings imply a focus on the fit between talent development, nimble leadership, and an enabling workplace context for long-term employee performance and long-term organizational development.
