Drop shipping is a modern e-commerce business model in which a seller markets and sells products without physically possessing or storing them. Instead, upon receiving an order, the seller purchases the product from a third-party supplier who ships it directly to the customer. Islam permits trade as a lawful means of earning livelihood while strictly emphasizing adherence to halal principles. This research paper critically examines online and digital trade with a particular focus on drop shipping. It explores the concept, operational mechanisms, advantages, and disadvantages of drop shipping, and analyzes it in the light of Quran, Sunnah, and classical as well as contemporary juristic opinions. The study highlights the conditions under which drop shipping may be considered permissible or impermissible according to Islamic jurisprudence, aiming to provide clear guidance for Muslims engaged in modern commercial practices while remaining within the boundaries of Shariah.
