Abstract

This research study critically analyzes the poetry of contemporary Iranian poet Taherah Saffarzadeh, focusing on themes of womanhood, identity, resistance and feminist consciousness. Saffarzadeh’s verse serves as an intellectual revolt against patriarchy, gender discrimination, emotional oppression and socio-economic marginalization. The study centers around poems where the poet does not portray women as passive or submissive beings but as conscious, autonomous, and defiant individuals. Through the use of symbolism, metaphor and inner monologue, Saffarzadeh illustrates the internal struggles, psychological conflicts and societal constraints faced by women. Applying a feminist theoretical framework, the study concludes that Saffarzadeh’s poetic voice embodies a deep intellectual, emotional and aesthetic resistance to male-dominated cultural narratives, making her work a powerful testament to feminist literature in the Persian literary tradition.
