Cultivating Positive Social Behaviors in Children in the Light of the Prophetic Seerah ﷺ: A Research-Based Analytical Study of Contemporary Challenges and Solutions

Abstract

The upbringing of children is one of the most crucial responsibilities entrusted to parents and society, as it lays the foundation for the development of a righteous and socially responsible generation. In contemporary times, children face diverse challenges due to rapid technological changes, weakening family systems, and the overpowering influence of globalization and Western cultural trends. These factors have significantly impacted their moral and social development, creating the need for effective guidance rooted in authentic sources. The Prophetic Seerah ﷺ provides a timeless model for nurturing children’s positive social behaviors, including honesty, empathy, respect for elders, cooperation, and responsibility. This research explores how the teachings and practical example of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ can be applied to address modern challenges in child upbringing. By examining the Prophetic methodology of moral, social, and spiritual training, this study highlights effective strategies for instilling constructive behaviors in children. The paper further analyzes the threats posed by media, materialism, and peer pressure, and presents Seerah-based solutions to overcome these challenges. Employing a qualitative and analytical approach, this research emphasizes the integration of Prophetic guidance with modern educational practices to build a balanced system of child upbringing. The findings suggest that adopting the Prophetic Seerah ﷺ as a guiding framework can equip children with the moral strength and social consciousness necessary for thriving in today’s complex world, thereby ensuring the development of a healthy, ethical, and responsible society.
